ISFP Amsterdam 2010, the 20th International Congress on Fibrinolysis and Proteolysis

Dear colleagues,

The International Society for Fibrinolysis and Proteolysis (ISFP) has selected Amsterdam for its 20th congress. We feel proud and honoured with the selection of our country and our capital for ISFP Amsterdam 2010 and have started preparations for this congress immediately after the Board had assigned the congress to Amsterdam.

I am pleased to announce that we have succeeded in developing an attractive scientific program covering a wide range of contemporary topics. I wish to emphasize our intention to devote a substantial part of the 2010 programme to clinical topics, making it a truly multidisciplinary event of interest to clinicians and non-clinicians alike. Apart from sharing your latest scientific data with your peers and colleagues, ISFP Amsterdam 2010 will provide ample opportunity for social interactions in an informal atmosphere throughout the congress.

Online abstract submission and registration are open now. On behalf of my co-organizers, I invite you to reserve the dates of August 24-28, 2010 for ISFP Amsterdam 2010 and to submit (or prepare for timely submission) your abstracts with your latest research findings. We welcome abstracts on all aspects of fibrinolysis and proteolysis, including but not limited to mechanisms, new techniques and models, diagnostics, proteolysis in disease processes, and therapy. The deadline for abstract submission is getting close quickly: March 8, 2010.

Amsterdam as the hosting city hardly needs any introduction. Most of you have seen pictures of the world-famous rings of historical canals surrounding its old city center or will have heard about the open mindedness and international orientation of its inhabitants. Why not take ISFP Amsterdam 2010 as an opportunity to combine science and pleasure? To make things even more comfortable for you, we have chosen Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky and its congress facilities as the congress venue. This venue is in the very heart of the historical inner city with many of Amsterdam’s world famous highlights at walking distance. In August 2010, Amsterdam offers an additional attraction: the maritime event SAIL Amsterdam 2010 which will take place August 19-23, back-to-back with our congress.

We look forward to welcoming you to Amsterdam next summer for ISFP Amsterdam 2010 and, if your schedule permits, perhaps a couple of days extra to enjoy the rich cultural heritage and the history of our capital.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee,
Professor Kees Kluft, President
